Pole Jam and New Grip Aid

Thank you to everyone who came along to the pole jam last Sunday, it was a great turn out. It was lovely to meet some new faces, I hope you all had fun, learnt new things and made some new pole buddies.

Jade done her first ever pole performance and despite the sweaty pole done really well. Her spins are very inspiring and she has a unique way of putting moves together, making her performance very interesting to watch.

I danced to Feeling Good by Muse, I know I really should pick something else to dance to but Muse are just so good to pole to. I have put my video from the day at the end of this blog.

I ordered a new product called Dry Hands last week, I think it it by far the best grip aid I have ever used! It drys out your hands instantly. You can order it from here: Trixters Pole Fitness

Jason Parlour Photography

I totally forgot that I had taken some video footage of the Purity Photo shoot on Sunday 11th April, I have now put it together into a little video. For those of you thinking of having photos done at the next Purity Photo shoot then this is a good idea of what you can expect on the day.

Apart from filming I was also helping to give ideas for pole moves that make great photos.

Also Jason is available for photo shoots at the Purity Studio if you decide to have a whole session to yourself.

By the way, everyone in this video were happy for me to film them, please note that if you come to a photo shoot and don't want this then it's not a problem.

Purity Workshop - June 2010

Thank you to all who came to the workshop on Saturday 5th June at the Purity Studio, even though it was hard work it was still a lot of fun. There was quite a range of students; there were some from my classes in Reading and other purity locations, and some that had travelled from Middlesex and Kent!

We started on the dot at 11am with the Trick Class. Emma assisted me in this class, so that all the students could achieve new things on the pole relevant to their level.

We done a routine to ‘Pump It’ by Black Eyed Peas, despite the sweaty hands all managed to put in inverts which looked very impressive, sorry if the song was running through your head for 2 days after!

The strength class with Steph proved to be rather tough, she seemed all sweet and like butter wouldn’t melt when she arrived, but once she got teaching we all realised how hardcore she was! The 30 minutes was pack full of squats, planks, tricep dips, press ups and other power moves, we all struggled through it and got some good moves to take away with us to help us with pole moves.

The yoga stretch at the end was well needed! Sophie took us through a gentle and relaxing cool down, which ended up revitalising everyone for their journeys home.

The feedback from this workshop has been fantastic, I am planning the next one to run in a couple of months.

Here are some photos from the routine workshop, strength class and yoga taken by Jason Parlour.

Well done everyone!

Aleisia on Britain's Got Talent

In case you missed it last night here is a clip of Aleisia Vazmitsel on Britain's Got Talent yesterday. She did so well and I think this has got to be one of the best adverts the UK have ever had about pole dance as an art form!

Well done Aleisia!

Calories Burnt Whilst Pole Dancing

There's been a big debate over the years about how many calories are burnt when you pole dance, I guess it's very hard to try and work out especially as we are all different heights and weights. I thought I would let you know my results from my work out this week.

Yesterday I did 1 hour and 47 minutes, I was doing a mixture of routine work and free styling along with inverts and climbs, followed by a long stretch at the end.

I burnt 556 calories, 1 hour and 8 minutes was spent in the fat burn zone and approx 38 minutes was spent in the fitness zone. I weigh about 60kg and my height is about 5,4.

I seem to spend most of my time on the pole in the fat burn zone, creating more muscle and strength rather than stamina. Routines work more on stamina so by doing both you can create an all over work out.

Australia's Got Talent - Pole Dancers

So the semi finals have now come round in the land down under, Sony and her friends from Girlfriend Pure Pole Angels are doing pole dancing proud!

Their routine from the semi finals was even better than the first one, they used 2 Xstages, one was on spinny, not sure if the other one was. Their tricks on the pole are breathtaking, each move is steady, and despite the fact it was a fast routine, it seemed perfrectly in time and not rushed, they must of practiced so hard!

Click here for the routine - Girlfirend Pure Pole Angels on Australia's Got Talent

Enjoy!
